Brevity is the Soul of Wit
Anything that is brief and simple, which can be handled and understood easily, attracts attention. This idea is particularly true in the case of languages, which serve as means of communication. A language serves its purpose best if it can hold the attention of its audience and convey to them a message as clearly and exactly as possible in the shortest time. Such a quality is essential in communication because it is generally difficult for an audience to focus attention on anything for more than a reasonable period of time. Speaking or writing just what is necessary, helps us engage the interest of our audience effectively. Since brevity in expression appeals to all types of audiences alike, those writers and speakers who maintain brevity in content and simplicity in style will be popular.
