There are too many people on this planet so it is logical to look for other planets that human kinds can colonize. Do you agree that space exploration is the answer to over population?

Countries throughout the world are spending billions of dollars on space exploration. It is generally believed that one day, another planet like earth would be found and this would give a solution to the existing problem of over-population. In my opinion, it is too optimistic a statement to make at this time due to many reasons.

Firstly, space exploration is in its beginning stage and it only started a few decades ago. Space exploration is like looking for something that is unsure as there is no evidence to believe that it would happen in future. Moreover, space exploration is very expensive and many countries cannot afford it. After spending so many years and dollars, even Mars remains almost unconquerable for man. Hence, there is no point in believing that space exploration would bring an imminent solution.

There are many other simple solutions to tackle the problem of over-population. Governments can resort to persuasive methods like incentives or jobs or coercive ways like tax or even imprisonment. These methods will be much simpler and safer than space exploration. Solving over-population through space exploration is like killing a fly with cannon.

In total, it can be concluded that space exploration is the most expensive and time consuming way to solve the problem of over-population and still, the result of exploration is uncertain.
