Tracking the Animals
Materials Required:
- An adult
- An outdoor area
Earth is home to many living beings. Even though some animals are extinct today, we can conclude that they lived many years ago. Assuming you can prove that a few of them have been around your house, yard or neighbourhood, collect evidence of their presence and make a list.
A few tips would be to look for animal hair on the furniture, funny smell or a sound produced by woodpecker or cricket.
You can also look for holes in the ground, sand hills, a chewed leaf or broken branches. Study closely. What do you see?
Can you find evidence of something that has taken place? For instance, if you see a fly caught in a web, you can guess there was a struggle between the two, even if the spider isn’t there anymore.
