Electricity

“Life without electricity! impossible.” yes it is true. Today most things are not possible without electricity, for that matter this book could not have been printed without it either. We owe it to Alessandro Volta who, in the year 1800, invented the first battery which made possible the providing of a continuous electrical current. In those days there were various machines which provided electricity in surges but not a continuous current. It was Volta’s pioneering work that led to the discovery of magnetism with an electric current and then Michael Faraday was able to produce electric fields with the help of magnets, thus leading to the development of transformers and dynamos.
