Celebration of International Day for Natural Disaster Reduction reaffirms its commitment towards effective and efficient disaster management throughout the world. Celebration of the Day with initiative highlighting the way ahead on how to reduce risk, man and material management during the disaster. Avalanches can wipe out many villages, heavy rains can wash away fields, and long drought can spell starvation. Earthquakes and volcanic eruptions can make thousands homeless. Hence several initiatives highlight the way ahead to show how to live with the risk and benefiting from risk mapping education and mountain development.
