English Short Story “The Crows and the Black Snake” Complete Moral Story for Class 7, 8, 9, 10, 12 Kids and Students.

The Crows and the Black Snake

Once a crow and his wife had a nest in a banyan tree. They had lived there for a long time. One day a black snake came there and started living in a hole under the tree. To live with a snake as a neighbor was dangerous.

Once the mother crow laid eggs. Sometimes later the baby crows were hatched. Both the father-crow and the mother-crow flew away in search of food. In their absence, the snake crawled up the tree, killed the young birds, and ate them up.

When the couple returned, they found the baby-crows missing. It became clear to them that the snake had eaten them up. As there was no way out of the situation, the father crow went to a clever fox for advice. The fox advised him to lift the necklace of the lady of the royal household when she would take it off before taking a bath. Her servants were bound to follow her. The crow should then throw the necklace into the hole of the snake. The servants would surely kill the snake to recover the necklace.

The crow acted upon the advice of the fox. He lifted the necklace; the servants followed him. The crow threw the necklace into the snake’s hole. The servants kept their sticks ready to beat the snake to death. As the snake came out they killed it, dug up the hole, and got back the necklace.

This is how; the crows avenged their babies’ deaths upon their enemy and also got rid of their dangerous neighbor.

Moral: Destroy the enemy with tact.
