Dear Kuldeep,

I just received your letter and was very happy to read its contents especially that you are all well and enjoy the climate of Kashmir. It is, no doubt, a paradise on Earth and blessed are those who live there in the company of all the bounties of nature. Delhi is a hell their days. The temperature usually goes above 40° and hot winds continue blowing all the time. The pollution of Delhi adds fuel to the fire. It is almost impossible to move outdoors in the afternoons and evenings. The school and office goers are the worst sufferers as the traffic moves at a snail’s pace in the peak hours because of heavy rush. There is a heavy shortage of water and electricity as the consumption of these things increases manifold and the supply lessens because of intense heat.

The population goes on increasing without any limit and naturally there is heavy pressure on essential goods. Prices also go sky-high and the eatables like fresh vegetables and fruit cost unimaginably high. In spite of all this Delhi is buzzing with activity. Everybody seems to take these hazards very easy.
