After the invention of the radio man thought of hearing as well as seeing the announcer. With the invention of T.V., this dream came true.
Now we can see as well as hear the speaker through a T.V. set. T.V. has increased the educative value. Children’s lessons have become interesting. A lesson on T.V. can be watched by millions of students. It has boosted information on different channels. technology. Now people can watch amusing programmes
One can see live one-day cricket matches, tennis matches happenings or events taking place at far-off places. This one can do while sitting at home. Live telecasts of parliament sessions can be viewed by millions of people without going to the Parliament House. There are scores of advantages of T.V.
On the other hand, it also has many disadvantages. It has made children glued to T.V. screen for hours. Thus watching T.V. for long hours at a stretch causes damage to the eyes. Children do not have time for games, they become obese (fat) and lethargic. They do not do or finish their homework. They give up reading books, story books, newspapers etc. Thus, they score poor marks in examinations which is the biggest disadvantage of T.V. Work too suffers in factories and offices because of watching T.V. programmes till late night. Cable TV has an adverse effect on the young brains. they are attracted towards crimes, violence and nudity. Our culture is being spoiled. Such serials should be banned altogether.
We should guard our children against watching such programmes.
Every coin has two sides. But it is for us to see what we should view and what not. A wise choice of good and educative programmes must be made.
