Science Project on “Wind Energy”, Project Experiment Topics on Energy in Different Forms for Class 8, 9, 10 and 12 Students.

Wind Energy

Materials Required:

  1. Stiff paper
  2. Thread
  3. Pencils
  4. Modelling clay
  5. String
  6. Scissors
  7. Quart milk cartons
  8. Adhesive tape
  9. Body of shallow water

Sails have been used from time immemorial on boats, to harvest wind energy and move them.

For this experiment, you need to make two boats from quart sized milk cartons. Placing empty milk cartons sideways, with their opening ends upwards, take the help of scissors in cutting off the top ends to make a boat.

Near the opening ends, put in small heaps of your modeling clay. Now in order to construct the masts of your boats, place the eraser end of your pencil into the clay. Add a one-foot long string at the end of your boats, so that it can pull on the water.

Cut out the sails from a piece of paper to the sides of your mast. Similarly, make several boats with sails of different shapes and sizes.

Now place the boats in a small lake or a public fountain and then find out which boat moves faster. The answer is in the size and shape of the sail on the boat.
