During winter, we need more energy to keep our bodies warm. To get the desired warmth, we take the help of warm clothes, to keep us insulated. The question that arises is which kind of clothing material make better insulators against the cold weather?
To find out, collect different types of fabrics to put to the test. The more materials you find, the better. Any kind of them will do.
For the next step, cut out large square patches from all the materials that you have collected, so that they can be covered around a small jar completely.
Now fill the jar with a mixture of hot and cold water, which should be of the human body temperature of 98.4° Fahrenheit. Now push the thermometer in the jar and quickly use your material clip to wrap the jar around completely. Rubber bands may be used to hold the material together and also keep the thermometer in place.
Keep recording the temperature from time to time, till it reaches the temperature of the room. Repeat the same exercise with all the other materials and once you compare the readings by time, you will be able to ascertain which material serves as a better insulator.
