Science Project on “Recyclable Packaging”, Project Experiment Topics on Environmental Science for Class 8, 9, 10 and 12 Students.

Recyclable Packaging

Materials Required:

  1. Ten same size aluminium soda cans of different brands (12 ounces)
  2. Ten 2-litre soda bottles of different brands
  3. Scale
  4. Paper and pencil

Glass and other packaging materials prove to be costly, so soda comes in thinner recycled glass/plastic bottles and aluminium cans today.

Do aluminium soda-can makers use the same amount of metal in all their products?

Are some cans heavier than the others?

Is the same quantity of plastic used in all the 2-litre soda bottles?

Collect 10 aluminium cans of different brands, rinse and dry them out. With the help of a scale, weigh each can and record the results. ,

Which can is the heaviest and which is the lightest?

Subtract the weight of the lightest from the heaviest and calculate the difference. Is the difference big or very little?

Repeat the same exercise with plastic soda bottles. Note the difference between the weights of bottles and cans. Is the difference bigger?
