Recycling Toys and Books

Materials Required:

  1. Paper and pencil
  2. Items collected from friends

Is there a “lending library” set up by your teacher in the classroom, wherein you can bring in books and games to lend to others?

Some good items for the lending library are books, comics, video-game cartridges, magazines, computer games and videotapes.

Before bringing any item to the lending library, children must seek permission from their parents to do so and be sure to mark one’s name on each item, so that it can be returned.

Lending things that we don’t use anymore will help the environment cutting down on what is disposed of. We will also save the Earth’s resources, as extending the life of things we already possess, will cut down on our immediate purchase and henceforth a cut in the need to manufacture. Extend the life of things by repairing them.

Start a toy repair shop in your classroom, where broken trucks and torn teddy bears can be fixed.

Unwanted or outgrown toys can be donated.
