Science Project on “Energy from Food”, Project Experiment Topics on Energy in Different Forms for Class 8, 9, 10 and 12 Students.

Energy from Food

Materials Required:

  1. Food labels, books, other research materials
  2. Paper and pencil

Like all appliances and other objects, even the human body needs energy and this energy comes from the food that we consume.

Energy that we need is measured as “calories”. Our body needs its daily dose of calories to function properly and to keep us healthy. Different occupations of people ensure that they need different calorie intakes. For instance, a man who has to work at his table only, needs far less calories to function properly, as compared to a sportsman or a person who works at a construction site.

Excess calories taken in are stored in the body as fat, which is the body’s storehouse of energy.

Too much of fat in a body is also not good for a body to function properly.

To know how much calories you take in during a day, consult the food labels of all the food that you eat during the day. If the labels are not available, then chart out the calorie contents of the food you eat from books.

Also do a research as to how many calories are needed in a day for a healthy person and compare it to the amount of calories that you have taken in during the day. This will give you a comprehensive understanding of where you stand, as regards a healthy living.
