Essay on – The Person I Like Most

Essay No. 01

It is good to have friends. One’s life without a friend of friends is unpleasant. Even kings do have friends. One can share one’s joys and sorrows with a friend. But to have a true friend isn’t too easy.

I am fortunate to have a true friend. He is Raja, my classmate. He has all the virtues of a true friend. He is my best guide and companion. He is my best friend. He is of my age.

He is tall, intelligent, and handsome. He comes of an educated and well-cultured family. He helps the poor and the needy. He is as gentle as a lady. He always smiles. Anger does not touch him. He believes in simple living and high thinking. Everyone speaks highly of him. He is loved and respected where ever he goes.

He is a good player of football. He also plays other games.

He is healthy and strong. He helps me in my studies. We go to the playground every day in the evening. He is liked to buy our teachers. He is good at studies and extra co-curricular activities. He has won many certificates of merit. I am proud of him. He is a gem.

The Person I Like Most

Pandit Jawahar La! Nehru is the person I like most. He has impressed me greatly. He was born on 14th November 1889 in Allahabad. Moti Lal Nehru was his father. He was a great lawyer.

Jawahar lal Nehru got his early education at home. Then he went to England for higher studies. He returned to India in 1912. Later he became a lawyer.

He gave up his practice and joined the freedom movement under Mahatma Gandhi. He was totally involved in India’s freedom movement.

He was sent to jail several times. In 1947 when India became free, he was elected the first Prime Minister.

He was a great statesman, idealist, and dreamer. He has written many books. He worked hard to serve his country.

Pandit Nehru loved children. And the children called him Chacha Nehru with love. He always liked and enjoyed the company of children.

He always wore a rose in his dress. His birthday is now celebrated as Children’s Day.

India made great progress under his leadership. He died on 27th May 1964. He was one of the builders of modern India. We always remember him fondly.

My Neighbour

I live in Preet Vihar. It is a good colony. Mr. V. K. Khanna is our neighbour. He is a doctor. He is just 27 years old. I like him very much. He is liked by everyone in our colony.

He is M.B.B.S. He has set up a small clinic on one side of his residence. He had a limited staff. His wife too is a doctor.

The way they treat patients is remarkable. They charge reasonable fees from their clients. Mr. V. K. Khanna is a humorous fellow. He loves to play cricket on Sunday after 12 O’clock. He does not open his clinic in the evening on Sunday. It is the only off half day of every week for him and his wife.

He is also the secretary of our association. He loves reading good novels. Whenever I feel any problem I go to him, and he helps me. He is a good guide too. He tells me how he becomes a doctor. The key to success is hard work and de- termination. In his opinion, one can achieve success if one is determined and is willing to work hard.

He is soft-spoken, well-mannered, and helpful. He is not mad after money. He charges nothing from the poor for consultation. Sometimes he gives money to needy patients. He guides the young boys of our area. He tells them to be clean and healthy. Everyone who knows him has a good word to say. He is the person I like the most.
