National Youth Day – 12th January
It was on the 12th January 1985 when the tenth president of the Ramakrishna Math and Mission, Swami Vireswarananda had amplified this message in these words: “The young men of India are very enthusiastic about rebuilding India and making her great.” So, to thrive in this direction, we would have to take a pledge to remove the slavish mentality imbibed by us during British rule. Celebrating National Youth Day every year is to remember and look into our youth and heritage. We ought not to condemn anything Indian, out of slavish mentality, and look up all the foreign ideas as genuine. So in this endeavour, make our youth so confident, firm, to get solution of our problems in our own way. Celebrating this day is therefore important to imbibe in Indian Youth, the courage, credibility, and confidence in their own knowledge, power.
The young generation has a fit body with an active mind. By observing this day, we could ignite the young mind with new ideas, strength, and confidence, through which they could lead and put our country in the list of a developed country. Pumping the youth with creative energy and a positive outlook, they can do anything needed for them and the country at large. So National Youth Day celebration every year is for instilling energy and confidence among Indian Youth. President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam stated that if the potential of all youth is exploited to its maximum, India could become developed within the next 20 years.
“Ignite the youth, to fight for mission and myth.”
