It is our prime duty to keep our teeth clean by washing them after each meal. Tooth decay is caused if grains or sweets are left between teeth. Bacteria grow there and produce a type of acid which destroys the teeth.
The common dental disease, the most widespread, especially among children are cavities. These microscopic organisms are not able to cause disease directly but they turn the sugar between the teeth into acid, which attacks the enamel of the teeth. The enamel dissolves and causes little cracks to appear on the teeth. Once a crack is made in the enamel, the bacteria find the door to the fortress of the tooth and thus tooth decay starts. This is mainly caused due to eating of chocolates and sugary substances frequently. Teeth should be washed properly after eating sweets.
We should get our teeth cleaned from time to time by the dentist to keep our teeth fit. After birth teeth need a calcium-rich diet. Dentists Day celebration reminds us of the challenges posed to dentists due to various teeth problems. It is the dentist in our life who cares for and cures our teeth problems.
