I have just heard of your terrible loss and hastened to offer you my deepest sympathies. At such a time, it seems vain to try to express one’s feelings of intense sorrow. You have really suffered an irreparable loss. Man is mortal, and your mother’s life was over. It was a long, useful, honourable, and dedicated life and her time for rest had come.
