Science Project on “Preventing Heat Loss”, Project Experiment Topics on Energy in Different Forms for Class 8, 9, 10 and 12 Students.

Preventing Heat Loss

Materials Required:

  1. Your house
  2. A windy day
  3. Pencil and paper

As you have seen earlier, your house is insulated to keep the inside of your home, nice and warm. Along with the insulation material, the wood in your house also acts as a good insulator.

Wood generally has thousands of cells, which act like a honey-comb. For instance, three quarters of your door’s heat loss occurs from the edges of the door.

Windows and electrical appliances are also another important point, from where heat energy escapes in your house.

Find out which are the points in your house from where heat energy escapes.

Draw an entire floor plan of your house, which should include all the points of heat escape, like windows, doors, electric switches and the like.

Then move down to those spots following your plan and check for any drafts of wind.

You can use a very light material, like a feather, to check for air leakages.

Alternatively, you can also use the sensitive area of your cheeks to measure any such air leakages.
