Sub. : Request to preside over at a lecture by Mr. Nicholas Bum

Sir,

Most humbly, I shall like to introduce myself in the capacity of the Secretary of our School Literary Club, and take the opportunity of inviting your goodself to preside over a lecture in our school by the renowned storywriter and novelist, Mr. Nicholas Burn.

Mr. Burn has been very kind to agree to deliver a lecture in our school premises on March 14, 2007 (Sunday) at 4 p.m. sharp. This great literary personality has just returned from a world tour after delivering a number of lectures in various educational institutes of repute. He has earned great fame in the field of stories and novels for the young. The theme of the present lecture is “Contribution of Indian Authors to the World of Fiction in English.”

Mr. Burn will speak for an hour, followed by a question-answer session. Everyone will be given a chance to ask any question. Thereafter, the function will be over after a brief refreshment.

On behalf of the school authorities, I request you to grace the occasion with your august presence and preside over the function. Your presence will, undoubtedly, be a great source of encouragement for all of us. Looking forward to your timely consent and arrival in the function, Sir,

Thanking you,

Yours obediently,

Arun Govil Secretary
