Sir,
Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper I want to share my experiences both with the readers and the authorities through a travel in a train. I was travelling on a confirmed second class ticket from Delhi to Jammu in Puja Express. The train got packed to full right on the station in Delhi. There was not even an inch of space left in the reserved compartment in the passage, doorway or outside toilets. All the passengers kept standing for want of accommodation. The train left the station and a couple of people stepped on to the berth reserved for me on my side and could not be got down in spite of my protest. Then came to check the tickets. It was an open flouting of norms. He began collecting money from all the people openly and with a great pride as if he was the owner of the train. No one could object as they were the defaulters, sitting in a reserved compartment with open or no tickets. I was astonished on this open transaction of bribery. The TT Sahib as he was called, was even gracious enough with some to allow travel without ticket. Astonished as I was till I reached my destination I found none else checking the passengers or their tickets anew.
Thanking you
Yours Sincerely
K.P. Mohan
