Of great riches, there is no real use, except it be in the distribution
Material wealth and natural resources are Nature’s gifts to mankind and are meant for our collective survival. They serve their purpose properly only if they are used to fulfill the needs of the entire human race. But many of us, owing to selfishness, tend to exploit these gifts by both fair and foul means, ignoring the needs of others. The greed of such people may make them rich and powerful in society, but there is no certainty that their money and power can ensure their satisfaction and security in life. Though not often appreciated, it is a fact that we, as social animals, cannot live in isolation, and that, we depend on one another for our survival. Therefore, getting rich at the expense of others’ welfare will cause the decline of society, and in due course, our own. Mercifully, many of the wealthy nations have started recognizing this reality — a fact which is making them provide aid and assistance to the poor of the world.
