English Essay/Paragraph/Speech on “Id-ul-Zuha” for Kids and Students for Class 8, 9, 10, Class 12 and Graduation Examination

Id-ul-Zuha

Id-ul-Zuha is known as the observance day for a devoted Muslim. It falls on the tenth day of the twelfth month in the Hijri calendar. It is known in three other names—Id-ul-Azha, Id-e-Qurban or Bakr-Id.

As per the legend, Abraham, a pious and gentle Muslim, had a dream. Abraham was asked by Allah to sacrifice the most precious possession to please him. Since the most precious possession to him was his son, Ismail, the next day Abraham took his son for the sacrifice and covered him with a cloth. When he tried to sacrifice him son he heard a cry of sheep nearby. He removed the cloth and saw Allah’s grace and miracle before him. The sheep was sacrificed instead of his son.

Since then, the tradition of Muslims sacrificing a goat or sheep is carried on this holy day. The Muslims offer prayers to Allah. The meat of the sacrificed sheep is shared with kith and kin.
