Arctic Ocean

Arctic Ocean is the world’s fifth ocean and also the smallest and the shallowest ocean of the world’s oceanic divisions. Its water is distributed among Europe, Asia and Northern America. It coastal length is 45,389 kilometer long. It is located in the Northern Hemisphere and mostly in the Arctic North Polar Region. The total area of the Arctic Ocean is 1,40,56,000 square kilometers. Its average depth is 1,205 meter, and its deepest point is at 4,665-meter-deep, known as Eurasian Basin. It is surrounded by land masses of Eurasia, North America, Greenland and other islands. Arctic Ocean generally includes Baffin Bay, Barents Sea, Chukchi Sea, East Siberian Sea, Greenland Sea, Hudson Bay, Hudson Strait, Kara Sea, Laptev Sea, White Sea and some more other water tributary bodies. Arctic Ocean is connected to the Pacific Ocean by the Bering Sea; it’s connected to the Atlantic Ocean by the Greenland Sea and Labrador Sea.
