English Essay on “Religious Education” complete Paragraph and Speech for School, College Students, essay for Class 8, 9, 10, 12 and Graduation Classes.

Religious Education

There can be no true religion without education. There can be no education without true religion. Education and religion go hand in hand for the peace, progress and prosperity of humanity. Where education becomes irreligious and religion becomes uneducated, all the troubles of society come into play.

All the religions of the world are one and the same in the basic principles. Troubles arise when selfish priests and political rulers and leaders put wrong meaning on religion and make it an instrument of making money and controlling the people. Basically there is no difference between Hinduism and Islam, Islam and Sikhism, Sikhism and Christianity, Christianity and Buddhism and other religions of the world.

“The best of God’s servants”, said Prophet Mohammad,” are those who, when seen, remind one of God.” How is it different from other religions? He said, “That person is not a perfect Muslim who eat his fill and leave his neighbours hungry. “He said,” God is gentle and love all gentleness.”

About education, Prophet Mohammad said,” Go in quest of knowledge even unto China, i.e., even the end of the world, unto the `edge of earth’…. Seek knowledge form the cradle to the grave’. Excessive knowledge is better than excessive praying; and the bedrock of religion is abstinence It is better to teach knowledge one hour in the light than to pray the whole night.”

Thus you find that true education and true religion are intimately connected. Those who seek education without religion miss true education. Those who seek religion without education miss true religion. Learning is religious and to be religious is to be truly learned.

To seek true education is a duty for every man and for every woman. The ink of the scholar is more holy than the blood of the martyr. He die not who seek knowledge. The first thing created was reason. There is nothing superior in the world than reason. To listen to the lessons of the learned and study science is better than religious exercises.

He who leaves his home in search of knowledge and education walks in the path of God. Acquire knowledge. Learn to distinguish between right and wrong. It lights up the path_ to heaven.

Religion and education are your friends in the desert. These are your society in solitude. They are your companions when you are friendless. They guide you to happiness. They help you in adversity. They are ornaments among friends and an armour against the enemies.

Thus Bhartrihari, the great Hindu sage said, “What is of the greatest advantage? The companionship of the good. What is the worst thing in the world? The society of wicked men. What is the greatest possible loss? Failure to perform one’s duty. Where is the greatest peace to be found? In truth and righteousness. Who is the noblest hero? The man who subdues his senses. Who is the best loved? The faithful wife. What is the wealth? Knowledge. What is the most perfect happiness? Staying at home. What is royalty? The power to command.”
