An emergency meeting of different Cadres of teachers was held at Masjid ground, Sector-20, Chandigarh under the banner of Joint Action Committee of teachers, UT, Chandigarh to discuss the long pending Genuine demands of teachers. The meeting was attended by 850 teachers working in UT schools. There was a strong resentment among the teachers present in the meeting against the suspension of One Headmaster & Two Teachers and  delaying tactics of the department towards the problems of the teachers. The JAC demanded immediate solution of following demands of teachers:-

• Immediately reinstate the suspended Headmaster & two teachers of Govt. High School, Hallomajra.
• Promotion of all cadres of teachers/Lecturers on yearly basis including Principal, Head Master/ Head Mistress & All other Cadres of UT Education Deptt .
• Release of final updated seniority list of all cadres of teachers & All other Cadres of UT Education Deptt .
• Enhancement of salary of Part Time Vocational Lecturers.
• Merger of Computer Teachers & Data Entry Operators into main stream of Education Department and New Posts be created for Computer Teachers & Data Entry Operators in every High Schools.
• Regularization of Contract, SSA, Computer & Guest Teachers on priority basis.
• Release of salary of STC/ VT/ HBT teachers which is pending for the last four months including for the Month of June.
• Not to relieve any Guest/ Contract teachers during the adjustment of Deputationists and newly recruited teachers
• Working Timings of Resource Teachers should be reduced to 6 Hour’s i.e. 9.00 am to 3.00 Pm including release of T.A. to the Resource Teachers.
• Appointment to relieved Contract teachers numbering 14 in the Year 2013.

In joint statement issued by various leaders Sarv Shri Bhag Singh Karon, Savinder Singh, Khushali RamSharma, Ranbir Singh Rana, Shamsher Singh, Ravinder Sharma, Japinder Kaur, Madhu Rama and others demanded the immediate solution of above said problems of teachers upto 15.08.2015 otherwise JAC will hold protest rally and decide next course of action.

Deputy Director 2: Mr. Chanchal Singh visited the venue of ralley and had taken the memorandum on behalf of D.P.I. (s) and had given assurance that the suspended teachers and headmasters will be reinstated within 2 days and all other demands will be considered by 15^th august 2015.
