Renaissance

Europe was going through a gradual transformation in the 15th century. There were a lot of educated people in Italy who rediscovered the findings of the Ancient Greeks and Romans, they contradicted some and developed on others. This age of awakening was called Renaissance and it produced some of the greatest thinkers of all times and led them to make the discoveries on which modern science is based. In this age we had Galileo who discovered the way in which planets revolve around the Sun, Copernicus challenged most of the earlier theories about the Solar system and established new ones, great artists like Raphael and Michelangelo painted some of the most realistic life forms in this period. Leonardo da Vinci designed new machines including a crude flying machine. As a whole old ideas began to fade out and new and realistic ones emerged in this age.
