10 Lines – A Visit to A Temple

1. Last week I visited Birla Mandir with my parents. We took off our shoes at the entrance.
2. We washed our hands and then climbed a few steps. We reached the open verandah.
3. It had square white and black marble blocks. We saw big statues of Gods and Goddesses well decorated.
4. There were several worshippers. Everyone bowed his head in worship. The idols of Ganesha, Lakhmi, Saraswati, Siva and Parvati, Lord Krishna were there at different places.
5. We saw shalokas on the walls and also carved pictures depicting scenes from the Ramayana and the Mahabharata.
6. We visited the ‘Gita Bhawan’. Many people were sitting there chanting holy words.
7. The place looked holy and pious. We too spent some time there. Then we went round the place. We passed through an artificial cave and walked on the paved way.
8. We visited shops and had pakroas and coffee. We saw children slipping down the cemented slopes. The shopkeepers were doing a roaring business.
9. There were photographers. We got ourselves photographed. After ten minutes we got them. We came to the place where huge stone elephants were.
10. They looked wonderful. At the main gate, we bowed our heads, took our shoes, wore and came back home. It was a memorable visit to the temple.
