In many of the countries the people like to have late marriage and the number of children is less. What are the positive and negative impacts of these on the persons and the children? Give your reasons.

Unlike the past, the latest trend in marriage is to tie the nuptial knot at a very later age and to have only one or two children. The reason behind this seems that these days, people are well-aware about the consequences of early marriage and over-population.

Having late marriage has both positive and negative effects on the person. Firstly, they get ample time to finish their education and to secure a good job so that they can support their family financially. This is all the more true in modern days because education today is a very long procedure. Also, they get a lot of time to think about married life and become well-aware about their responsibilities in family life by the time they wear wedding ring. However, there is scientific evidence that people who marry at a very later age may face problems in reproduction. Also, late marriage means late children. By the time parents turn grey and need help from children. children will not attain maturity and both will be left helpless.

Again, less number of children means less expenditure on education, food, shelter, clothing and medicine. It ensures proper care of parents to children. However, it also means lack of communication skills and a self-centered life. It has been proved time and again that children who live in families with less number of children have problems functioning socially due to lack of essential social skills.

In total, it is evident that late marriage has both pros and cons. So, suitable age for marriage is a personal decision though very early and very late marriages are not advisable.
