On Being Caught in a Whirlpool
I was sailing a boat in the shallow waters of the sea near the coast. Suddenly, the tide rose, probably due to the attraction by the moon, as it was full moon night.
I found a little difficulty in controlling my boat. In trying to adopt a safer pose, I ventured to go a little ahead in the sea.
The sea-waves rose and I could no longer keep track of the safe invisible route on the sea which I had frequented a number of times with my father.
I felt being drawn to a circular eddy. It was the notorious whirlpool. Water was moving in circles around it. While it was deep at the centre, its water edges seemed slightly raised.
I saw many objects, including logs of wood, moving in circles around the whirlpool. I felt dazed. I realized that death was imminent and unavoidable.
Suddenly, however, to my good luck, my boat was caught in a heavily sunken hull of an old ship. The ship had been considered lost and it was a precious one.
As the high tide period was over, I was able to come out of the sea. I told the government about the ship and was suitably rewarded.
