As desired by you in your letter, I shall tell you about some of our prominent festivals. Deepavali is the most important festival of the Hindus celebrates victory of virtue over vice. Ravana, a symbol of vices, was killed a virtuous prince called Rama and people of this country remember his victorious return on Deepavali day. It is a festival of lights. At night people decorate their houses with lights. They wear new clothes, offer prayers to their deities and distribute sweets among neighbours. Sounds of crackers would fill the air on the eve of Diwali.

Holi is another interesting festival of this country. It is a festival of colours On Holi day people shower love and affection on others by smearing them wit colours. This festival is remarkable for its fun and frolic.

Among other numerous festivals, Rakchha Bandhan is the most noteworthy On this day sisters tie threads of protection on the hands of their brothers an ensure their safety. This festival reinforces the sacred relation between a brothe and sister. We also celebrate Christmas, Id and Guruparv.
