Good Morning respected principal, guest and dear friends. The topic of my speech is television. Television is a very popular mode of entertainment today. In most of the homes, we find the family members stuck to it. Today, even in India, Television stands as the cheapest mode Of wholesome entertainment. It provides the viewer with a wide selection of channels and programme with the help of the cable network now readily available. sometimes this wide variety of programme becomes the cause, of an argument among family members as to which channel should be put on. Television is a good source of advertising for  companies who want to promote their products. Day to day happenings and daily news is readily available at regular intervals on various channels. Reviews on various national events and live telecasts of sport events are also available. Students prefer watching entertainment programmes rather than informative ones. Some of these programmes contain a lot of crime and violence. They leave a bad impression upon the young minds. They lose interest in games and hobbies. The constant watching of television affects the eyesight. Most children become obese as a result of being glued to the television. Children should be guided by the parents to lead a disciplined life.
