Letter regarding the misuse of funds by N.G.Os

Sir,

This is to draw your kind attention towards the misappropriation of funds amounting to a substantial amount by “Bachpan”, an organisation providing shelter to the homeless. It has been found out that the organisation is collecting funds in the name of “Gujarat Earthquake”, but a major portion is being siphoned to some other projects. Also, the organisation is coercing the children into begging and the premises, where the organisation has sheltered the children, lacks the basic infrastructure. In fact, this is not an isolated case but such cases of NGOs mushrooming and asking for donations have become the order of the day. It is suspected that the promoters of most of these NGOS have a dubious background and are going hand in glove with some politicians who also have some vested interests. Your ministry should conduct a thorough check on these NGOs and if found guilty should not only be banned, but the promoters should be sent for rigorous imprisonment. Expecting a positive action in this matter.
