The advertisement in ‘The Hindustan Times’, dated 19 June 2008, for the post of ‘Office Assistant’ emphasises your need for a thoroughly competent person with sound educational background and sufficient practical office experience. Kindly consider my qualifications. I passed my Higher Secondary Examination from Delhi Board in 1998 with high second class. The same year, I joined St. Stephen’s College, Delhi, from where I passed B.A. in 2001 with first class, securing distinction in English and Economics. Since 2001, I am working as a clerk with M/s Ruhan Brothers, New Delhi. I can write accounts independently, type accurately, draft letters to the point and coordinate between the staff for better output of work. My Superintendent has recommended my case for promotion to the post of an Office Assistant but since the scales of pay in this firm are not attractive, I am submitting this application. I am at present 23 years of age with good health. I am confident that I will be able to perform my duties to your satisfaction. If you will offer me a chance, I will do my best. Hoping for a positive response.
