Essay, Paragraph, Speech on “India in 2021” Complete Essay for Class 10, Class 12 and Graduation and other classes.

India in 2021

Everybody has some dreams about his motherland. I too have dreams about India, my motherland. I dream India to be a super-power as early as possible. But wishful dreaming is just fantastic and mere dreaming will not do. Hence, dreaming has to be based on some ground realities and hard efforts for its activation.

Let us take the examples of a few countries which are considered superpowers. We take, for instance, America, Russia, China, Japan, England, France and Germany. These countries have sizeable but manageable populations. Only China may be an exception, but China has at last greatly succeeded in checking the rapid rise of its population.. All these countries have stable political system. These countries have a large manpower of highly skilled workers, state-of-the-art technologies and powerful defence systems based on acquired basis. These countries have high literacy rates. The people of these countries have a national spirit and they take pride in their countries.

During the post-Independence period, India has made great progress in all spheres. She has come over food crisis and partially over energy crisis. She has developed nuclear weapons and got an elaborate plan for peaceful uses of nuclear energy. Having been humbled by China in 1962; she has proved her might in wars against Pakistan in 1965, 1971 and 1999.

Since Independence India has built dams, agricultural universities, medical and technical institutes and steel plants. Now most of the people in India have much more facilities of comfort and entertainment at home. India has made tremendous progress in the field of science, technology, medicine and education. Her exports are now picking up and her foreign exchange reserves are growing fast. She has a very large force of skilled workers. A revolution has been brought in Information Technology and telecommunications in India. Democratic system in India has got deep roots and is by and large stable with occasional upheavals. People are slowly developing a scientific temper of mind.

In spite of all the apparent progress made by India and her strenuous efforts to be a super-power as quickly as possible, there are several factors which hinder India from becoming a superpower quickly. One of the major factors in this respect is her rapidly growing population despite all the steps are taken to check it.

About 260 million people in India still- living below the poverty line. Education and health care are growing costlier and have already gone beyond the reach of lower and lower middle class people. There is large scale unemployment and people are growing restless. There are suicides galore committed by the poor farmers. There is criminalization of politics and the common man is helpless.

India can certainly become a superpower if she takes certain strong steps in various directions. Evils like female foeticide, communalism and all anti-national and anti-social activities should be curbed. People and particularly women should be empowered. Much more attention should be given to the needs of children, youth and senior citizens. Steps should be taken to check population and drug-addiction.
