The Milch Animal I Like Most

I like all animals as they are beautiful and often very useful to man.

However, it is the cow among the animals that I like most. It is because the cow has several qualities which attract me.

The cow yields milk. Its milk is very useful for infants, growing children, pregnant mothers as well as old people. It is very nourishing. It is nearest to mother’s milk in its properties.

The cow is a very docile, lovable animal. It never hits anybody unless it is teased. The children like to see it.

It has a beautiful colour. Often it is white which is a very attractive colour. Even the cows which are black in colour have a charm of their own.

If we compare the cow with other animals, we’ll realize that it is the cow which is most attractive and charming. Take for instance, the balky buffalo. It has a black colour and it looks ugly with its big body and short legs. The goat is two small and unattractive before a cow.

The sheep and she-camels also give milk. But they are far too ugly and deserve no comparison with the cow. Even if many buffaloes give more milk than the cows, their milk is too fatty and unhealthy. Admittedly, of all mulch animals, cow’s milk is the best. Hence, my love for the cow which is rightly called ‘mother’ by some people and worshipped as such. I only wish that the cow should be looked after in a better way than it is being looked after at present.
