The name of Walt Disney is very familiar in all parts of the world as the creator of ‘Disneyland’ and as the artist who gave wonderful and, very amusing comic characters, to the world. Through his unique and most likeable comic characters, Walt Disney realized some very beautiful and creative dreams of man. However, ‘Disneyland’ in the state of California is the greatest and the most memorable gift to the people of the world. Lakhs of people from all over the world flock to Disneyland every year to get the excitement of moving through this dream-like place. There are so many imaginative and amusing things in Disneyland to experience. Walt Disney also created such famous comic characters such as -Mickey Mouse’ and ‘Donald Duck’ which remain unequalled in sale and popularity in the entire world. Besides, he also created the famous comic character ‘Scamp’. He was a popular writer and film artist too and produced several record making works. Walt Disney was the winner of 4 Oscars, a record in itself. He was also the first to make the animated cartoon film. In 1928, he produced a cartoon film `Steamtboat Willie’ with ‘Mickey Mouse’ playing a leading role in it. The film was much appreciated by the people and Walt Disney himself gave his voice to Mickey Mouse in this film. Ever since, ‘Mickey’ and his girl companion ‘Minnie’ have become great favourites of children.

The real name of Walt Disney was Walter Illias. Even after his death his fame as the greatest comic artist of the world is undiminished. His comic series ‘Mickey Mouse’ and ‘Donald Duck’ is tremendously popular in India also.
