A Clever Wolf and A Goat

Once a fox who was very clever fell into a well. The well was hidden in the tall grass. He could not see it while roaming about in the forest. He found it difficult to come out of the well. He waited for somebody to come and help him to come out of the well. In the meantime, a herd of goats came there to graze. One of the goats reached the well while grazing. She saw the wolf in the well and asked him, “What are you doing there?”

The wolf was clever and did not want to miss the chance of coming out of the well. He told the goat that he was eating sweet, juicy green grass. She may also come there and eat it. The goat fell into his trap and jumped into the well. The wolf without losing any chance jumped upon the back of the goat and came out of the well. When the goat asked him to help her come out, he said, “Now stay there and eat grass to or fill.” Saying thus he went away from there.

Moral: Do not trust anybody blindly.
