Cultural program held at Govt. High School Sector-41, Chandigarh.

evg4 evg5Mayur Eco Club of Government High School, Sector 41A, Chandigarh, Yuvsatta and Department of Environment, Chandigarh Administration organized various ‘Water Conservation’ related competitions like poster making, slogan writing, declamation and A street play ‘Jal hai to Kal hai (No future without Water)’ at the School campus. Gurbax Rawat, Dy. Mayor was the Chief Guest on the occasion

and prominent amongst those who participated includes Sandeep Joshi, famous artist & Pramod Sharma, Coordinator, Yuvsatta.

Gurbax Rawat, Dy. Mayor, Municipal Corporation shared that if third world war ever happen in future, it’ll be on the issue of sharing of water resources. So, the only way-out is proper water management and conservation of precious aqua-pura. Giving examples she said that we urbanites wastes lot of water, like for small jobs in toilets, if we can use tumbler/mugs for flushing’s, by which we’ll save at least ten liters of fresh water every time, plus instead of shower or pipes if we can use buckets we can further easily reduce our water consumption by at least one fourth. Giving examples of Israeli people, she motivated young students to become ‘Ambassadors of Water Conservation.

Later participating students led by their School Headmistress Manjit Kaur and Eco Club in charge Avinash Kaur pledged to conserve water and raise awareness amongst others in this regard.
The programme ended with a street play on water conservation and presentation of prizes to winners of various water conservation related competitions in the School..
