CBSE ASL Speaking Topic “Conversation between two friends Ramesh and Neeta regarding Indian films”.

Conversation between two friends Ramesh and Neeta regarding Indian films.

Conversation on the Topic “Indian Films” for Class 9, 10, 11 and 12 Students.

Ramesh: Which film have you seen recently, Neeta?

Neeta: I have not seen any film for the last six months. Can you believe it?

Ramesh: Really, I can’t believe it. I think you have been crazy for the films.

Neeta: You are right, Ramesh, I used to see a lot of films. But somehow, I could not see even a single film during the last six months, except watching them on the T.V. on Sundays.

Ramesh: But on the TV they show very old films.

Neeta: You are right. What films you have seen recently?

Ramesh: I have seen a lot of films recently like ‘Satyam Shivam Sundaram’, ‘Akhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se’, ‘Karmyogi’, ‘Junoon’, ‘Sajan Bina Suhagan’, ‘Muqaddar Ka Sikandar’, ‘Shalimar’, ‘Suhag’, ‘Kala Pathar’, ‘Ahsas’, ‘Chambal Ki Rani’, ‘Sargam’, ‘Mr. Natwarlal’, etc.

Neeta: You have really seen a lot of films but how do you get so much time to see the films?

Ramesh: It is my hobby to see the films.

Neeta: What about ‘Satyam Shivam Sundaram’? Some people say that it is an obscene film.

Ramesh: No, I don’t think so. In my opinion, it is a good film of art.

Neeta: I am also an admirer of Raj Kapoor’s films. I have seen more or less all his films.

Ramesh: I also like his films very much.

Neeta: How is the film ‘Akhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se’?

Ramesh: It’s a good tragic film about two young lovers.

Neeta: I heard that it resembles the novel ‘Love Story’ written by Eric Segal.

Ramesh: You are right. It resembles a lot with that novel.

Neeta: What about the film ‘Shalimar’? There was a lot of publicity about this film.

Ramesh: It is a good film. The photography especially is very good. I liked the acting of Dharmendra and Zeenat Aman.

Neeta: Who is your favourite Actor?

Ramesh: nowadays my favourite actor is Amitabh Bachan.

Neeta: I also like him but my favourite hero is Dharmendra.

Ramesh: Who is your favourite film heroine?

Neeta: My favourite heroine is Zeenat Aman and who is yours?

Ramesh: I like Rakhi, the most.

Neeta: I am also a fan of Sanjeev Kumar.

Ramesh: I liked much his acting in the film ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’.

Neeta: But in my opinion, the standard of Indian films nowadays is falling.

Ramesh: You are right. Because all the films are generally formula films and have the same oft-repeated themes.

Neeta: I agree with you. The producers put a little bit of everything in the film to make it a box-office hit.

Ramesh: These films also mislead the young boys and girls by showing crimes, drinking, gambling and sexy dances.

Neeta: There is no doubt that such films spoil the moral character of the young boys and the girls.

Ramesh: The Indian producers must do something to improve the standard of their films.

Neeta: Although India is known as the largest producer of films, yet most of the films produced in our country are of the lowest standard and a sheer waste of money.

Ramesh: The fact is that the Indian film producers are interested in making only quick money.

Neeta: You are perfectly right; they are not at all worried about the moral or social contents of their films.

Ramesh: In my opinion, the film producers should make such films as should build the moral character of the young boys and the girls.

Neeta: They should also help in the removal of many social evils like casteism, drinking, dowry, and untouchability.

Ramesh: Of course, there are some good films being produced by certain producers, which are called as experimental films or parallel cinema but these are very small in number.

Neeta: Such films also fail at the box office and the producers suffer huge losses.

Ramesh: The Government must encourage such producers that make good films.

Neeta: Many West Asian and East European countries import a large number of Indian films for exhibition in their cinemas. It is, therefore, essential that the standard of our films should be raised.

Ramesh: You are right. Only good films can enhance the prestige of our country.
