Strike while the Iron is Hot
The blacksmiths proverb “Strike while the Iron is Hot” means that it is easiest to temper iron when it is hot. Because once the iron becomes cold a lot of labour will be required to heat it again. Similarly it is said that an opportunity lost is lost forever. People who put off their task till tomorrow never see tomorrow. In Europe there is a proverb “Make Hay While the Sun Shines”. It means the farmers must act in time to dry the grass when the Sun is shining; otherwise the opportunity would be lost, as the Sun shines rarely in long winters of Europe. A person should thus use the opportunities to the fullest in time or he will never succeed in life.
