A Scene of An Accident

1. Many accidents occur on the roads of Delhi. Yesterday I witnessed (saw) a road accident in Connaught Place.
2. I was sitting on my scooter. A blue line bus was coming at breakneck speed from the regal side.
3. A blue Maruti car was turning to its right from the inner circle towards Madras Hotel.
4. The driver of the bus didn’t stop at the red light. He hit the Maruti car from behind. The driver saw the car but it was too late.
5. The car was smashed and overturned. Its window panes were shattered. There were cries coming from the car then no sound was heard.
6. The bus driver stopped the bus and ran away leaving it. People started gathering there.
7. The car driver was pulled out first, he was dead. Two men sitting behind were badly bruised and bleeding.
8. They were unconscious. Then the traffic police arrived followed by an ambulance. The dead man was covered with a white sheet. The other two were rushed to hospital.
9. An FIR was registered against the bus driver for rash and negligent driving.
10. Photographs were taken of, the scene of an accident. ‘Speed thrills, but kills’. It was a horrible sight. Traffic was diverted to other routes.
