Paragraph on “How many bees live in a hive?” complete paragraph for Class 9, Class 10, Class 11 and Class 12
How many bees live in a hive?
On average, there are about 6o,000 worker bees living in a hive. On top of this you must allow for the drones and, of course, the queen bee. It is an amazing figure when you think of the size of the hive and the amount of honey that is stored there during the winter.
As you know, the drones are turned out as winter approaches, but all the workers born in the autumn spend the winter in the hive with the queen. The bees have to make enough honey to keep them going through the winter. In a good season, the workers may make as much as 220 kg (485 lb) of honey from nectar and they will need about a third of it.
