Sir,
Kindly publish the following is the esteemed columns of your paper and oblige.
The demand for English is increasing day by day in all walks of life. English is not only an international language but is also an important national language of this country. It is the language of opportunity and status. Anybody who is looking for a good job is expected to know how to correctly communicate in English. Unfortunately, the standards of teaching English Schools, especially the government and the state funded schools, are falling every day. The need of the hour is to make English a compulsory language from standard one itself and recruit qualified teachers to teach English. More periods should be allotted in the school time-table to the teaching of English. Remedial classes for slow learners and laggards should also be introduced at all levels. Stress should be laid on the four skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking. This may call for a revised or curriculum at all levels. We must not lag behind. We should act before it is too late.
With thanks.
