Letter regarding the faulty admission process in schools.

Sir,

I would like to draw your kind attention towards the high-handedness of the school authorities towards the admission process. In fact, the very act of interviewing the parent leaves a lot to be desired. It is not only irritating for the parent to be interviewed by the principal, who himself may not be worth the post; but also extremely disgusting. The main function of the rigmarole is to find out the financial strength rather than educating their ward. Moreover, rarely the admissions are based on merit, either it is on the basis of clout or donations. The schools have become money-making institutions. Most of the schools have sub-standard teachers, as teaching has become a part-time job. Extra-curricular activities are nil and there is a function every month for which the student is fleeced for money. It would be quite appreciable, if the Department of education, takes a tough stand against these schools, and spare the parents and their wards, of the mental anguish dished out by the schools.

Yours Truly,
