The Rainy Season

India is a hot country. We have the Indian Ocean to the south of our country. In summer, the air becomes very hot. It rises very high in the sky and in its place winds, full of moisture, come from the south. They strike against the mountains and bring rains. These winds are called monsoon winds, and the season is called the monsoon season or the rainy season.

The rainy season in India lasts from July to September. Sometimes it rains heavily for days together. We cannot see the sun. The clouds sun in the sky freely. They are of dark color. The clouds are so dark that sometimes even the middle of the day also seems like night.

When the first rain falls, the whole earth becomes happy. Everybody goes mad with joy. The frogs croak in the rain water loudly. The farmers go out with their bullocks. They plough their fields, within a few days the whole earth becomes green with grass and plants. They leaves of all trees and plants get washed. The scenery is very beautiful and soothing to our eyes. The animals are also happy. They graze happily on the green grass. Rare sights like the rainbow and peacock can be seen.

These are some disadvantages also in the rainy season. Many new insects are born. In the evening small moths gather round our lamps. They make it impossible for us to read and write. We can see grass-hopper, snakes, earthworms and other insects. The roads are floods in many rivers. Crops get destroyed because of excessive rain. Poor people have no shelter. Some houses fall down.

Rainy season bring us joy but it also brings suffering to some people.

Essay No. 2

The Rainy Season

India has six seasons. The Rainy Season is one of them. It lasts from July to September. July and August are the main months for this season. India is a hot country. We have Bay of Bengal in the east side and Arabian sea in west side. Thus two waves of Monsoon bring  rain in our country. The largest part of our country, specially the Northern India is covered by the Monsoon arising from Bay of Bengal. This brings a large quantity of rains for our country. Sometimes it rains heavily for day and night. During  that period we cannot see the sun. the whole sky is covered with white black clouds. Sometimes the clouds are very thick and black colored making the day an evening.

After burning heat of May and June, we welcome the first rain. The whole earth feels pleasure . the animals get water to drink. They enjoy it after burning heat. Everybody is happy. Agriculture depends on rain so that farmers become happy. The  citizens also  get  relief from burning heat. Every  plant gets a new life. the peacock dances. The form croaks very loudly. Many new insects are seen on the wet earth. A green coloured covering can be seen on the earth. Everywhere we find green  grass. It makes us enjoy rainy season. We enjoy picnic in this season. The rainy seasons give food and water to hungry and thirsty animals. The cattle which are thin and lean in summer season become healthy in this season. The cattle graze green grass with pleasure. Thus we see that everybody welcome this season in his own way.   

A coin has both sides. So is the case with Rainy Season. It has also its terrible its terrible from. Due to rain the roads are covered with mud. It become   difficult to walk on Kachcha Roads. Our feet sink in mud. We cannot move fast in rainy season. We cannot enjoy outdoor games. The businessman has poor sale when the rain is heavy. We can see grass – hoppers, snakes, earth worms and other insects. The make our life miserable. We cannot read and write in night due to new born insects or moths. Due to heavy and continuous rain houses are damaged. Old houses fall down.  Poor people have no shelter. Pakka houses may leak. The crops are destroyed.

When it rains heavy it takes the form of flood causing heavy loss of property and life. But we cannot live without rain. We need it. It cannot be neglected. It is a must for India or world to nourish cattle as well as human beings and plants.

Essay No. 3

Rainy Season

The Rainy season begins in India when the South West Monsoon winds begin to blow over this country. It lasts in India from the second week of June till the end of September.

The rainy season comes after the summer Season. So this season brings relief to everybody. We enjoy the rains. Very often it rains for days together. The water level rises. Trees look more and more green. On a rainy day the sky remains covered with clouds. The sun remains hidden behind the clouds.

 Tanks and `the pools are filled with water. Roads become muddy. Rain water flows on the roads. Small children prepare paper boars and float them along the stream of water.

The rainy season is helpful to us in many ways. The earth, which was dry becomes cool and soft. The air becomes cool and comfortable. Farmers become happy to get adequate rain in this season. We get many kinds of vegetables in this season. If there is plenty of rain water, then it is preserved in dams for hydroelectricity and irrigation purpose.

 The rainy season is also not without troubles. It brings us   some inconveniences. As roads become muddy, people face difficulty in going from one place to another. Diseases like Malaria, Dysentery and Diarrhea are quite common. Impure water is the chief reason for the spread of diseases. A flood occurs and brings heavy damage to crops.

The rainy season is remembered for the famous Car Festival and the Rakai Purnima. These two festivals are celebrated more joyously in Orissa.
