Evils of Science 

Life today is governed and conditioned by the off shots of Science. We cannot imagine of existence without it. Science has given us knowledge. All knowledge is power. Power should be controlled by mind. Science  has   improved the circumstances of man, not the man himself. The mind of man makes a heaven of hell and hell of heaven. The war weapons were made. Science did not compel us to make them. It was our greed mad madness for power which urged us to make them. The ruin of Nagasaki and Hiroshima by two bombs is an example.

Beside it, we make bad things on cheap rates. We are becoming more selfish. The cheap things are produced with great polish and show. It is a blot to the modern commercialism. It is cheating and nothing else more production, more money – that is our motto. We are more immoral today. We were better in past. The feeling of live and sympathy are driven out from the hearts of people. There is hatred and ill- feeling based on moral and economic corruption.

Science has brought a revolutionary change in the industrial field. It has introduced the age of machinery. New industrial centres  are established. People rush to big cities for employment creating many problems of housing and sanitation. Many cities are suffering with dangerous pollution.

Science has made wonders in the field of medicine. Now injections and medicine have been invented. But medical Science has its darker side also. These medicines have given birth to many unknown diseases. Sometimes these medicines make serious reactions.

Science has made a great change in the whole outlook of man. Most of the people seem to lose their faith in God. Their God is only money. It has made man materialistic. No body cares for moral values. The real happiness of life is lost. Man has become a moving tool in the age of machinery. It has made man selfish, man and restless.

The introduction of machinery has given birth to capitalism. It has divided mankind into two classes – capitalists and laborers. These two classes are opposite to each other. The capitalists control the industries. Big profits go to their pockets. The result is that the rich become richer and the poor become poorer.

New weapons of destruction have been made such as Atom bombs. Hydrogen bombs, Death Rays, the guns, cannons etc. the aeroplanes are being used for dropping bombs on the innocent people. They can destroy beautiful buildings, cities, museums, dams, men , women and children within a moment. Now a days wars have become very dangerous and destructive. In short, Science has become a menace to mankind.

Science has given us power, not vision, knowledge, not judgment , strength, not    sanction. It is lack of thinking if we hold science responsible for our sufferings. Science is a boon as well as a bane. The user of science is the person. It is the Man who is responsible for this. If we use science  in the destructive way, the whole world can be turned into ashes. It will end our civilization from  this earth. There will be chaos. Desire of power in excess caused the angels to fall,  the desire of knowledge in excess caused man to fall.
