The Hunter and The Birds

Once a hunter wanted to catch birds. He thought of a plan and went to the forest. In an open field, he spread his net and grain to attract the birds. He felt happy to see two birds that came there and sat down beside the net. In the meantime, a flock of birds came there flying. All of them at once sat on the net. They picked grains in their beaks but when they tried to fly, they could not. They were caught in the net. They visualized that their death was certain.

They tried very hard to free themselves from the net but in vain. One of them was aged and very wise. He suggested to them to try once more jointly with full force. The hunter had fallen asleep. All the birds tried once more and they flew away with the net. When the hunter woke up from his sleep he found the net gone. He was surprised. Finally, he repented on his folly that he had fallen asleep while waiting for the birds. He took an oath never to sleep while catching the birds.

Moral: Union is strength.
