World Yoga Day – 2nd September

World Yoga Day is celebrated on 2nd September every year to recollect and make people aware of the science and art of yoga and its importance in human life. ‘Yoga’ means to unite, unite with the Supreme Lord through meditation and action.

Yoga Day is celebrated on 2nd September on the eve of the birth anniversary of the great Indian philosopher and exponent of yoga, ‘Maharishi Patanjali’. According to him, yoga is the obstruction of sensual pleasures and channelising the energy to the goal of  human birth. In this way the energy of an individual does not dissipate but unite for a single cause. Our mind wanders through eye or other sensual organs in the world, thus prohibiting an individual from his goal of life and peace of mind. But through the practice of yoga a person can meditate on his goal by withdrawing his sensual objects and focusing his mind on almighty, all-pervading God, our origin. Thus the yogi becomes spiritual slowly and slowly and attains peace, happiness, goal by practising yoga.

On Yoga Day, several yoga instructors, therapists, and lovers of yoga science from all parts of the country attend celebrations. These celebrations include seminars, workshops, etc. to create mass awareness of the benefits of yoga in life. Thus, yoga is a must for a healthy and educated society.

“Be follower of yoga, To realise your goal.”
