Conversation on the Topic “At The Bus Stop” for Class 9, 10, 11 and 12 Students.

1st Passenger: May I know which bus goes to Connaught Place?

2nd Passenger: Sorry, I don’t know. You can ask from the Enquiry Office over there.

1st Passenger: (Addressing the enquiry clerk) Could you please tell me which bus goes to Connaught Place.

Enquiry Clerk: There are two buses, for Con- naught Place, one is No. 401 and the other is 420. 401 goes to the Super Bazar, whereas 420 goes to Regal.

1st Passenger: Thank you please. I think 401 will suit me. Can you tell me when is it expected?

Enquiry Clerk: One has gone only five minutes back, now the other will come after twenty minutes.

1st Passenger: Thank you, please.

3rd Passenger: Are you waiting for the Bus No. 401?

1st Passenger: Yes, please.

3rd Passenger: Then, please come and stand in this queue.

1st Passenger: I hear that there is a lot of problems with the bus service in Delhi.

4th Passenger: You are right. In Delhi we have to wait for the buses for hours together.

1st Passenger: But in Bombay the bus service is very efficient and there is no such problem.

3rd Passenger: The DTC has increased the bus fares but they have neither increased the frequency of buses nor decreased the overcrowding in the buses.

4th Passenger: The Government must do something to improve the bus service in Delhi.

1st Passenger: Delhi is a city of long distances. It is very difficult to go from one place to another without an efficient service.

3rd Passenger: You are absolutely correct. Three is a lot of wastage of precious time of the public on the bus stops.

4th Passenger: Due to the inefficient bus service many people are injured while boarding the buses.

3rd Passenger: Children, old men and women are even trampled under the feet of the passengers while trying to get into the buses.

1st Passenger: And I have noticed one more thing in Delhi that the bus drivers do not stop the bus in front of the bus stops. They stop it quite away from the bus stand.

4th Passenger: You are very right.

3rd Passenger: And these bus drivers drive away the buses even before the people have properly boarded the buses.

4th Passenger: And this results in causing injuries to many innocent old men or women as they fall down from the moving buses.

3rd Passenger: There comes a bus.

4th Passenger: I think it is 401.

3rd Passenger: Yes, you are right this will go to Super Bazar.

1st Passenger: Let us get into this bus.

Conductor: Room for only four passengers, please.

5th Passenger: Please take a few more passengers because we have been waiting for a long time.

1st Passenger: Conductor, please take a few more passengers.

Conductor: No, please. I am very sorry. The bus is already overcrowded and I cannot take more than four passengers.

1st Passenger: Let us board the bus and not delay it.

(Only four passengers board the bus and the bus moves on.)
