Man in the 1st Car: Where do you want to go?

Julie: I want to go to Connaught Place.

Man in the 1st Car: I am sorry, I am not going in that direction.

Julie: It’s all right. Sorry to have bothered you.

Man in the 1st Car : (To his companion) Just see these fashionable girls. They belong to very rich families. Still, they are begging for lift like beggars.

2nd man in the 1st Car: I don’t know, how they dare asking lift from strangers. They might also fall into the hands of criminals.

Julie: (Signalling another car for a lift). Excuse me, sir. Which way are you going?

Man in the 2nd Car: I am going to Okhla. Do you want a lift?

Julie: No, please. I want to go to Connaught Place.

Man in the 2nd Car: Then I am afraid I can’t go to Connaught Place for your sake.

Julie: It’s all right. Sorry to have troubled you.

Man in the 2nd Car: Don’t bother. (He drives away).

Wife of man in the 2nd Car: (To her husband) You should not have stopped the car to give lifts to such type of girls. Who knows, she might be a corrupt girl.

Man in the 2nd Car: I am sorry, darling. I promise in future I shall never stop my car to give lift to such girls.

Julie: (Thumbing down another car) Excuse me, sir.

An old man in the 3rd Car: What do you want?

Julie: Could you please give me a lift in your Car?

Old man in the 3rd Car: Where do you want to go, young girl?

Julie: I want to go to Connaught Place.

Old man in the 3rd Car: O.K. Come into the Car. It’s on my way. I am going to Karol Bagh.

Julie: Thank you very much, sir.

Old man in the 3rd Car: It’s all right, young girl. You are just like my daughter. Are you studying in this college?

Julie: Yes, sir. I am a Final Year student of B.A (Hons.) in English.

Old man in the 3rd Car: Very good. My daughter living? is also doing B.A (Hons.) in English. Where are you

Julie: I am living at N-Block, Connaught Place.

Old man in the 3rd Car: Do you daily take lift from your college back to your home?

Julie: Yes, sir. I usually have to take lift because I do not get a bus to go back to my house at this time of the day.

Old man in the 3rd Car: But you should be quite careful while thumbing for a lift, because in my opinion there is some risk involved in it. There might be some criminal persons in the car who may try to kidnap or molest the girls.

Julie: You are right, uncle. But I am always careful and try to stop the car driven by a respectable-looking gentleman.

Old man in the 3rd Car: That’s good. You should always be cautious and never try to take any risks.

Julie: Thank you, uncle for your good advice.

Old man in the 3rd Car: Here we have reached Scindia House. Now where should I drop you?

Julie: Please drop me here itself. My house is just nearby and I shall walk up to that place.

Old man in the 3rd Car: It’s all right. Let me open this gate. Now please get down.

Julie: Thank you, Uncle: Goodbye.

Old man in the 3rd Car: Bye, bye.
